YouTube removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV channel over alleged abuses
The main YouTube channel of Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations has been taken down by the video-sharing platform.
This is coming after a platform, OpenDemocracy identified and reported more than 50 abusive videos amplifying abuse against Joshua’s accusers on the video platform.
Recall the BBC World Service in partnership with OpenDemocracy did a three-part documentary earlier this month, in which whistleblowers who were once senior members of SCOAN went on the record with allegations of sexual and psychological torture, financial fraud, and criminal negligence by Joshua. These videos, filmed originally by the church’s Emmanuel TV media department, showcased some of the women who participated in the investigative documentary. read here
YouTube which has policies against cyberbullying and harassment, and which also specifically forbids harassment against survivors of sexual violence said: “The flagged channel was terminated for violating our hate speech policies.”
This is the second time in three that late Prophet TB Joshua’s church’s YouTube channel will be suspended following breaches of the platform’s policies.
